Lots of "State Fair-like" exhibits showcasing how Emirates used to live in the desert. This is before the gold-platted toilets and large Range Rovers. Notice the shrine to the Sheikh. You'd never see something like that dedicated to Bush.

Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan and I meet. His response, "Ah, you must be from The National." He's a sharp guy, or at least his PR guy is.
Probably the first guy with a nail in his eyebrow to ever shake Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan's hand.

Don't you hate when the other guy grabs too soon? You just wanna do it over to prove that you don't normally shake hands like that.
this is how people seem to shake hands here. Its not like the grab, squeeze, and shake that we are used to. Its like, grip and gently hold, then shake one time and release. Takes some getting used to, I imagine that some people thought I was trying to break their hands off the first few times I shook hands here.
Another interesting shaking trivia is that you shake hands almost every time you see someone, so everytime I go upstairs to talk to the guys I work with, its shake everyones hand all over again, instead of the usual, shake hands when you first meet someone then hardly ever again, or when its been ages since you saw them.
Elysia was also trying to push me out of the way in this photo, she wanted to be in front of everyone.
